Review
A-Ing seafood congee is a food stallish joint established in a storefront close to the rear entrance of NTU. Their advertised special is seafood congee or noodles, which is essentially the same seafood soup with your choice of rice or noodles. Their main menu items are all 80 NT, and they have side dishes like fermented cabbage or smoked duck that range from 30-50NT. They don't have a lot of seating, so it's best to order to-go. This is a quick meal that is open later than the other restaurants in the area.
Even if you order dine-in, the food comes in the same to-go container anyway. The soup base could be pork, but I'm not so sure. The seafood congee is prepared by heating their stock with cooked rice, a shrimp, two rings of calamari, a couple leaves of A-veggies, some mustrooms, a couple cubes of fish, and 3 clams. Compared to the seafood congee at Lio He Nightmarket, this one seems to be lighter and not as fishy. It is a cheap meal, especially if you want to switch it up or have some warm soup on a cold autumn night. If you arrive really hungry, I recommend getting a side:
I got a plate of smoked duck stir fried with some green onions. I was thinking it would be hot, but unfortunately this dish was served cold. It was still a great appetizer, since it was very salty and heavy. It is a good match with their lighter flavored seafood congee.
For 80NT, they had a lot of ingredients to offer. I have to compare this with other seafood congees up north, but the ones they have down south are defintely much better. So this is place's food is just a 3 out of 5: edible, not revolting, but not remarkable. The decor and service doesn't relaly apply here...3's across the board for stall food.
