Review

Next to the front entrance of NTU, there is a oyster omelette stall open til 4 a.m. They also serve an assortment of other snacks like duck meat string noodle soup and braised pork rice. Everything on their menu is under 50NT, so you can have a quick bite for cheap at this joint.

I got the duck meat string noodle soup this time around. I will try to update this page with their other items in the future. The quality of the food was borderline acceptable. The duck meat was served in measely portions, and those chunks you see are mostly bone. The string noodles were edible, and slightly on the harder side. The soup was not so bad. I was able to drink most of it, and it feels good downing hot soup on a cold night. This is one of the few late night eating options around NTU, so i'll be coming back out of necessity in the near future.

The braised pork rice bow is a pretty good option for 40 NT here. Even though the pieces of braised pork are not uniform in taste, texture, and juiciness, the overall flavor of the bowl is pretty appetizing. This dish is still not good enough to positively affect my overall rating for this place. It still is a cheap bite booth serving low quality snacks, which only upside is that they operate until 4 a.m.
I was already not a big fan of the oyster omelette, but this oyster omelette was even worse than I could have possibly imagined. The oysters they used were not fresh, and were very small in size. They used way to much yam starch and the whole thing was waaay too gooey. The unforgivable crime done upon this dish was that the sauce was horrible. The thing that should unite all the elements together in taste actually failed to do so. It was very liquid in consistency and not thick as you would imagine the sauce should be. Also it did not carry deep enough sweet and salty notes. Overall, this is probably not your best place for good quality and traditional oyster egg omelette, but it will be your only option if you live around NTU and you find yourself hungry on your way home and it's 2 in the morning.

Good description about how the recepy must be. But don't eat whatever thing appears in Taiwan Street at 2:30 a.m.or you will finish up horrible.
